Police carried out more than 300 checks across Cyprus on Sunday, the first day of the hunting season, resulting in 12 on-the-spot fines for various offences.
The violations included transporting assembled hunting guns in vehicles, hunting game in prohibited areas and carrying hunting guns in areas where hunting is banned .
