Rain in first week of April surpasses month’s average

Rainfall during the first week of April has already surpassed the average for the month, reaching 111 per cent of the usual precipitation.

The Meteorological Department said the total rainfall from April 1 till 9am on April 7 reached 33.2mm compared to the average 29.9mm.

Out of the 17 areas covered by the monthly update, only five did not surpass the 100 per cent of normal precipitation for April .
