A total of 677,133 vehicles have had their road tax renewed as of March 8 , compared to 680,670 by the same date last year, the road transport department (TOM) said on Monday.
Vehicle owners have until midnight on Wednesday to renew them for 2026 without extra charge.
Late renewals will incur a €10 fine plus 10 per cent extra charge of the current year’s registration fee.
