Italy will send the naval frigate Federico Martinengo to waters near Cyprus as part of a coordinated European armada to reinforce the island’s security amid escalating tensions linked to the US-Israeli conflict with Iran.
Italian officials confirmed on Friday that the vessel will deploy with at least 160 members of the Italian navy as part of a joint security presence alongside forces from Spain, France and the Netherlands .
