Larnaca criminal court on Thursday sentenced a woman to 16 years in prison, having earlier found her guilty of attempting to smuggle 40 kg of cannabis through the airport.
The defendant, aged 26, had been charged with possession of narcotics and attempted importation, as well as intent to distribute the drugs.
The woman was searched and arrested at Larnaca airport on March 30 this year. She had tried to smuggle
