A total of 2.5 acres of land planted with pine trees, wild vegetation and reed beds was burnt by a fire that broke out in Alethriko, in the Larnaca district.
The agriculture department said on Saturday the fire that had started from an illegal dump and was brought under full control with firefighters having monitored the situation overnight.
