The issue of a commissioner for the elderly took centre stage in a meeting on Tuesday at the presidential palace between President Nikos Christodoulides and the Cyprus organisation of older citizens .
President of the organisation, Antonis Demetriades said the issue of a designated commissioner had been a long-standing point of discussion.
